The Grand Priory of Romania founded in 2004 A.D. (886 A.T.) under the authority of His Highness Eminent Grand Master and Prince Regent of O.S.M.T.H. Dom Fernando Campello Pinto Perreira de Sousa Fontes. Under the autority of Grand Master, is founded in 2006 The Magistral Grand Priory of Romania.
ORDO SUPREMUS MILITARIS TEMPLI HIEROSOLYMITANI is NOT a freemasonic or paramasonic order and is NOT connected, associated or affiliated to freemasonry and/or any of its subordinate bodies. The Knigths Templar solely acknowledges and emulates the historical ideals of our ancient Order, as drawn up under its statutes, and claims its direct lineage from the ancient knightly tradition.

WEBSITE OF THE SOVEREIGN MILITARY ORDER OF THE TEMPLE OF JERUSALEM
We welcome all our peer who are interested in getting a clearer and more comprehensive idea about the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem - past and present history and modern organization – and invite them to visit our website. Let them judge for themselves who is entitled to legitimate representation of our Order. While until the nineteenth century our Order had never failed to achieve its initial goals and ideals in unbroken unity, when it emerged into a new social dimension, certain group interests, differences and human vanity have unfortunately induced dissociation, a process that occurred with other Chivalric orders and organizations as well. Here are a few reasons that led to this: certain individuals may not carry on the legitimate historical descent leadership of our Order; our Order’s leadership is not a democratic but an autocratic one; some or other leaders may be too eager to legally assume with national or international bodies titles and offices they are not entitled to, as they are part of the world historical patrimony. The following list is but a reminder of the schismatic claims and therefore we invite our fellow Templars and visitors to briefly examine them for more information.
A) We will start first by providing a website list related to O.S.M.T.H. – identified as loyalists committed to our present Grand Master and Prince Regent Don Fernando Pinto de Sousa Fontes, whom the Kinghts and Dames of the Temple of Romania and other brothers and sisters of the Temple worldwide deem to be the true, historical and lineal descendant and guardian of the Knights Templar Order. It must be stressed the so-called „autocratic” leadership our Grand Master has been accused of is one of our Order’s initial marks, since the Order of the Temple was created, and not a characteristic of OSMTH only – as it is a common practice with all Knightly orders. This very quality is a guarantee for Knights Templar brothers and sisters to become good democrats in our modern-day society.

B) A second significant contingent if related to its membership is formed of those Temple Knights who aimed at the „democratization of the Order”. The new group broke away on Salzburg Chapter held in 1995 and is presently conducted by a network of American senior military officers from the US army. (Why doesn’t it come as a surprise for us?) This group of OSMTH Knights is actively involved in humanitarian work (an aspect that should be an inspiration for all), have both rejected the authority of our Grand Master and Prince Regent Don Fernando de Sousa Fontes and the linear descent of the Order after Jacques de Molay, as well as the very existence of the Larmenius „Charter of Transmission”, elements they had nevertheless assumed when first accepted into the Order and until 1995.
C) A third group is represented by some Autonomous Priories who have an uncertain status if related to OSMTH. They have taken no official position towards the schismatic movements, nor have they officially granted their support (at least not until now) to the above mentioned orders.
D) The Zdrojewski Group broke away from OSMTH in 1970 and proclaims itself to be the true descendant of the Order of the Temple, as based on documents owned by a noble family from Naples.
